State Ranch, a 23-acre vineyard, is one of the oldest in the area. It is divided into two parts by State Lane Road, with older vines on the eastern section and younger vines on the western parcel. The loam soil has excellent drainage throughout the year. The vines are moderate in size and get full sun throughout the day. Nickel & Nickel plans on making the vineyard where this wine comes from into a world-class wine destination.

Aromas of vanilla, tobacco, oak, and leather. On the palate is plum, dark chocolate, cherry, and blackberry. It has mature oak intensity, a velvety mouthfeel with warm sensations and a long finish.
