Nathan “Nearest” Green who was African American and the distiller who taught Jack Daniel’s how to make whiskey, specifically through the sugar maple charcoal method confirmed to be brought to Tennessee by his enslaved ancestors. The brand includes a range of whiskies with various ages and blends, but 1856 Premium Whiskey is from their allotted older stock and bottled at 100 proof. All are mellowed using the Lincoln County Process, the unique filtering of process that made Tennessee Whiskey famous. Uncle Nearest is distilled, aged, bottled and hand labeled in Tennessee.

Crowd Taste Notes:
Aromas of honey, ethanol, apple, and orange. On the palate is table salt, butter, vanilla, and straw. It has no oak intensity, and a creamy mouthfeel with warm sensations.
